My Experiences with Diigo

  • I had never heard of Diigo, prior to creating my account. I particularly like the set-up of the website - the content is presented in an organized fashion, which makes it easy to navigate the site. I also like that I can share interesting academic journals with my peers, as well as add commentary and/or descriptions.
  • I dislike the fact that it took me a while to Bookmark the academic journals. The instructions were somewhat complicated, making the process very puzzling. I feel as though it should not have taken me so long to get the gist of it (Bookmarking).

My Experiences with Blogging

  • My experiences with blogging have been positive overall. I not only enjoy creating posts that are aesthetically pleasing, but I also find it comforting to articulate my thoughts on such a unique platform. I look forward to the topics I have to cover each week. In addition, I like the creative freedom I have in terms of curating my blog - I can upload images and add decorations that match the content I discuss per blog post.
  • I have learned how to better organize the information on my posts. Initially, I jumbled all my information together. I realized, however, that I prefer having bolded titles per question/section, followed by bullet points (in which I elaborate on my responses). Generally speaking, my posts now look more organized and neat.

Web 2.0 Tool

  • Schoology is a Web 2.0 tool that I would consider using when I became an educator. I feel that it is a convenient platform that will allow me to not only send reminders to my students but also share interesting academic content with them. I could share links to articles or education-related videos that my students will enjoy.
  • More importantly, my students will be able to interact with one another. If any of them have questions about an upcoming assignment or project, they can ask and communicate with each other - if and when I am not there to assist. It will enhance their communication skills overall.

  1. Hi Nat!

I agree with you that blogging is very aesthetically pleasing. It also helps me organize my thoughts and feelings into blog posts :)
I have used Schoology for one class in high school, and I can say that it is a great Web 2.0 tool to use for students.

  2. Schoology is a very good resource to use. I had teachers in High School have us use Schoology and I found it to be far more beneficial than I anticipated. I agree also that the blogs give us a chance to consolidate our thoughts and properly understand what we have been covering.
